The North Curl Curl Beach is also a nice place to camp for free near Sydney. It is located in the north of the city, about 20km from the CBD of Sydney – between Manly Beach and Dee Why Beach.
Sydney: Best Free Camping Spots to Sleep in Your Car
It is a perfect place, but be reminded that between 7am and 7pm a parking ticket is required. During that time you might want to park in the residential area on thop of the beach – there it is easy to find a spot. Just turn left right before you enter the parking area of the beach and walk a few meters to the beach (get the direction to the parking area from the map below).
At the main parking area there is also a “Alcohol Free Area” sign – you decide what you do with that information 🙂

Campers are NOT welcome in Surf rd.
Use designated camping sites with toilets
Yeah local people here not friendly and there are no toilets we felt not welcomed
Just wondering where people go to the toilet when they are in the local side streets around North Curl Curl surf club. It’s 500m to the closest public ones which are closed at night. Plenty of vehicles have no toilets facilities on board. No wonder the locals complained it’s disgusting.
Hi,
Camped here over Christmas was so bad, local home owners gave us hell, so not cool.
