Noosa – Free Camping & Tips for Backpackers

Free camping in Noosa - in a backpacking car or van? Yes you can! We have done it and let you know how. Check out what you need to know.

Noosa is said to be a bit of a snobbish tourist destination, but it’s still beautiful here. Most striking are the villas that Noosaville and the main town of Noosa Heads have to offer.

In the Noosa National Park, right on the coast, you can find BBQs in the shade and the National Park invites you to take a short hike to the cliffs. The beach is perfect for sunbathers or surfers – or those who want to be.

We easily stayed here for a few days after a long stay in Brisbane. If you want to sleep in the car, it is best to look for a commercial area and even at night away from the beach. The rangers are not that crazy around here in our experience. In the map below I link the Woolworths of Noosa, where you can try. You can also try the commercial area right behind it. There is also a Coles more centrally located. Personally I didn’t sleep there, but it should work too.

Check out the video above to get a glimpse of Noosa.
